aokubi daikon

Yesterday we went to ngau gae for dinner at First Markham Place. Had steamed eel with chun pay (dried orange peel), some kind of Ngau Gae Sew Chao (the signature stir fried dish consisting of various seafood items and vegetable - not recommended), and this salt dried fish stir fried with kai lan. Delicious! (with the exception of the Ngau Gae Sew Chao, which was like a dish that had all the stuff leftover from the end of the cutting board).

Afterwards we went to First Markham Place and my parents went to look for salted dried fish and assorted soup materials, and DVDs of China tv series. I went to look for this turnip daikon doll that I saw in a store inside. Apparently his name is aokubi daikon and was released in Japan almost THREE years ago!
